Humanitarian Response

Barendra Unnayan Sangstha (BUS) works to improve the livelihoods of rural communities by addressing infrastructure gaps, promoting sustainable farming, and enhancing access to resources. Their initiatives include road building, electricity access, clean water projects, and cultural events to foster community unity and resilience. BUS also empowers women through vocational training, leadership development, and health education, promoting gender equality and active participation in community development. In partnership with NSPL India, BUS has implemented the Bhungroo water management system, which stores excess rainfall underground for use during dry spells. This system improves water supply, reduces soil salinity, and protects farmers from drought, while empowering women with land ownership and leadership roles. Through these efforts, BUS aims to ensure sustainable farming and improve the overall well-being of rural communities.
